Nedstack has officially unveiled its third generation PEM fuel cell platform in Duisburg, marking a major milestone in the company’s technology roadmap. The platform was developed in close cooperation with ZBT, the Center for Fuel Cell Technology, with whom Nedstack has collaborated since 2018.
The inauguration took place on November 14, 2023, at ZBT in Duisburg, in the presence of His Majesty King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands and Hendrik Wüst, Prime Minister of North Rhine Westphalia. The event highlights the strength of the cross border Rhein Ruhr hydrogen ecosystem and the shared ambition to accelerate hydrogen innovation in Europe.
The third generation platform forms the foundation of Nedstack’s future product portfolio. It delivers a significant increase in power output while being engineered for large scale manufacturing. The design supports industrial cost targets, making hydrogen fuel cell technology more economically viable across stationary and maritime applications.
With improved power density and production readiness, the new platform strengthens Nedstack’s position as a developer and manufacturer of high power PEM fuel cell stacks and systems. It enables broader adoption of hydrogen solutions in sectors where reliability, durability and efficiency are essential.
This achievement reflects the long term commitment of both Nedstack and ZBT to advance fuel cell technology and contribute to a Net Zero energy system.
